About the Role

As the Volunteer Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for the recruitment, placement, training, and functioning of hospital volunteers. You will make decisions that have a direct bearing on client perception of hospital performance and services. You will assist in the development and implementation of volunteer recognition and satisfaction programs, develop volunteer job descriptions, and maintain volunteer files. Additionally, you will maintain Joint Commission compliance as it pertains to volunteers, serve as a liaison between staff, volunteers, and patients, and educate hospital and medical staff about the role of the Volunteer Services Program.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, place, train, and manage hospital volunteers
  • Develop and implement volunteer recognition and satisfaction programs
  • Create and maintain volunteer job descriptions and files
  • Ensure Joint Commission compliance related to volunteers
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, volunteers, and patients
  • Educate hospital and medical staff about the Volunteer Services Program
  • Complete and mail staff birthday cards as assigned

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in management or customer service
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
