Type 1 Diabetes (T1D)
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease. It doesn’t go away and can affect anyone at any age. In T1D, the body's immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Insulin is a crucial hormone that helps the body convert food into energy. People living with T1D must take insulin by injection or insulin pump to survive.
