Volunteer: Resource Development Action & Implementation Plan

About the role

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. Following an initial assessment of The Arc of California's revenue model and the identification of priority opportunities for revenue diversification, the organization needs to translate those strategic priorities into an actionable resource development plan.

Key deliverables

• Facilitation of two 90-minute Resource Development Task Force planning meetings during the six weeks following the initial kickoff meeting. These working sessions will build upon the priorities established during Project 1 and move the Task Force from strategy to implementation.
• Recommended roles and responsibilities for the Board, Resource Development Task Force, executive leadership and staff in supporting resource development and revenue diversification.
• A practical 12-month Resource Development Action Plan identifying priority strategies, key activities, responsible parties, milestones and measurable goals.
• A high-level framework for Years 2–3 that identifies longer-term priorities for building a more diversified and sustainable revenue model.

Anticipated engagement

The volunteer will review the assessment, recommendations and Task Force priorities developed through Project 1; participate in preparation with organizational leadership; facilitate two 90-minute Task Force working sessions over approximately six weeks; and prepare the resulting implementation plan. Estimated project period: October–December 2026.
