The LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted families through transportation, therapy, and technology-driven programs. Founded in 2025, the foundation operates nationally, focusing on underserved communities in Maryland, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, California, and Virginia. Key initiatives include:

  • LoopConnect: A ride credit sponsorship platform providing free or subsidized rides to prison visitation facilities.
  • LoopTalk: A HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy program offering trauma-informed mental health care to justice-impacted individuals and caregivers, including children.
  • LoopTroop: A rideshare partnership ensuring families have access to safe, reliable, and culturally competent transportation services.

About the Role

The LoopRoots Foundation is seeking a passionate, organized, and visionary Director of Youth Sports Programs to lead the development and implementation of our growing youth sports initiative. This individual will oversee the creation of a scalable program that removes financial barriers to participation while building partnerships with schools, leagues, coaches, athletic organizations, community partners, and corporate sponsors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the LoopRoots Youth Sports Program.
  • Create the overall program strategy, policies, and operational framework.
  • Develop seasonal sports leagues, clinics, and youth camps.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer coaches and program volunteers.
  • Build partnerships with schools, parks and recreation departments, youth sports organizations, athletic facilities, and community organizations.
  • Develop scholarship opportunities for youth experiencing financial hardship.
  • Cook up equipment donations, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and media teams to promote the program.
  • Assist with grant research and funding opportunities related to youth athletics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in youth sports, coaching, athletics, recreation, education, or nonprofit leadership.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience developing community partnerships is a plus.
  • Passion for mentoring youth and creating opportunities for underserved communities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a growing leadership team.

Who We Serve

The Youth Sports Program is designed to remove barriers for children experiencing financial hardship, domestic violence, human trafficking, homelessness, parental incarceration, and other challenging life circumstances.

Time Commitment

This is a 20–25 hours per week remote position with a flexible schedule, including occasional in-person opportunities as the program expands.

Growth Opportunity

This is a volunteer leadership position. Qualified volunteers may have the opportunity to transition into paid positions by the end of the year, based on organizational funding, performance, leadership, attendance, and program growth.
