This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the pleasure that comes from making a difference in people’s lives.

• Surgical Waiting Room - Keeping family updated with information regarding their family member who is having surgery
• Gift Shop - Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items and using the cash register
• Front Information Desk - Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointments
• Women’s Services Reception Desk – Assisting visitors presenting to see patients in L&D, Newborn and Special Care Nurseries
• Endoscopy Clinic – Assisting patients/staff in the Endoscopy Clinic and meeting their needs
• Department – other department volunteer opportunities as needed
• Musical Instrument Player – Playing piano, violin or other musical instrument in the hospital lobby

Qualifications

• A six-month commitment, with a minimum of presenting for a 3-4 hour shift each week, exceptions being for vacation or illness
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Able to work alone and independently
• Have good communication and listening skills
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)
• Adequate hearing and vision
• Sensitive to patient and family situations
• Required Pass a background check TB test
• Meet Immunization compliance
