Florida Department of Health administers volunteer health services in 11 regions throughout the state. Regional coordinators work with community partners to promote access to quality health care for the medically underserved and uninsured residents of Florida by leveraging the efforts of dedicated volunteers.
About the Program
Two programs are authorized within Chapters 110 and 766, Florida Statutes, for statewide volunteer health services efforts:
- Chapter 110 Volunteers: Open to anyone who wants to donate goods and/or services. Opportunities are available in many DOH facilities for individuals with clerical, administrative, technical, and professional skills.
- Volunteer Health Care Providers: Allows private licensed health care providers to volunteer their services to medically needy residents of Florida. Providers can volunteer in freestanding clinics, private offices, or facilities.
