Volunteer Layton Hospital

About the role

This is an unpaid volunteer position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the pleasure that comes from making a difference in people's lives. We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in various departments throughout Layton Hospital.

Areas of service

• Guest Service Information Main Lobby (Friday 8AM to Noon) – Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointments
• Guest Service Information Emergency Department (Tuesday Noon to 4PM, Wednesday Noon–4PM, Thursday 8AM to Noon)
• Imaging (Flexible Schedule)
• Medical Surgical Unit (Monday 9AM to Noon)
• Music (Morning: Monday or Wednesday, and any evening) – Playing the piano

Qualifications

• Six-month commitment, with a minimum of presenting for a 3-4 hour shift each week (exceptions for vacation or illness)
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Able to work alone and independently
• Good communication and listening skills
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Physical mobility (walking, bending, standing)
• Adequate hearing and vision
• Sensitive to patient and family situations

Requirements

• Pass a background check
• Agree to get a TB test
• Meet immunization compliance
