Volunteer: Grants Calendar & Fundraising Strategy for a Growing Nonprofit

About the role

Face Friends Foundation, Incorporated is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Sugar Hill, Georgia, building the Sugar Hill Workforce Academy — a community food pantry and wellness hub, a commercial culinary incubator kitchen, and a technical literacy lab serving the Gwinnett County corridor. The mission is to break generational survival cycles by arming local residents with asset-backed tech and culinary skills so they can build self-sustaining lives. The foundation is 53 days from the launch of its Digital Online Academy on October 19, 2026, and is building toward the opening of its physical Sugar Hill Workforce Academy on March 1, 2027. Face Friends has a $150,000 Phase 1 escrow target and active revenue streams across corporate sponsorship, community grants, and earned revenue, but currently lacks an integrated fundraising strategy or calendar.

What We Need

We are seeking a pro bono consultant with fundraising strategy expertise to assess our funding landscape, identify our strongest prospects, build a 12-month fundraising plan, and deliver a grants calendar that gives our lean volunteer team a clear, actionable roadmap toward the $150,000 target.

Deliverables

• Fundraising Landscape Assessment: A clear evaluation of the foundation’s current funding environment — who is funding organizations like ours in Gwinnett County and Georgia, what the competitive landscape looks like, and where the greatest funding opportunities exist for a workforce development and food access nonprofit at our stage of growth.
• Prioritized Funder List: A focused set of the strongest prospects across three categories — grants, corporate sponsors, and individual major donors — with documented prioritization criteria our team can use to extend the list independently. The ten strongest prospects in each category, ranked and explained.
• 12-month Fundraising Plan: A realistic, phased fundraising plan covering August 2026 through August 2027 — showing which funding streams to pursue in which sequence, what the realistic revenue targets are for each stream, and how each stream contributes toward the $150,000 Phase 1 escrow target and the foundation’s post-opening operational sustainability.
• Grants Calendar: A month-by-month grants calendar showing every identified grant deadline, submission window, and follow-up date across the 12-month planning horizon — giving the Grants Director and Fundraising & Development Coordinator a single, actionable reference document for the full year.
