About the role

I am the founder and sole leader of CollabED, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides a free professional community for K-12 teachers across the country. We have a platform, a podcast, a resource library, a mobile app, and a growing volunteer team across 10 states. However, we lack a real fundraising plan or a properly built budget. I am seeking a skilled volunteer to assist me in the following areas:

Responsibilities

  • Review our current draft budget and help build a realistic fundraising strategy for a year-one nonprofit operating under $50K annually.
  • Identify the right funding lanes for an organization at our stage, including small foundations, corporate giving programs, and individual donors.
  • Create a 90-day fundraising action plan that can be executed with limited time and no development staff.

Requirements

I am a full-time 5th grade teacher who built CollabED from scratch. I do not need someone to hand me a template. Instead, I am looking for someone who has experience in this area and is willing to think through the process with me.

Qualifications

  • Able to think critically and creatively about fundraising strategies.
  • Experience building budgets and fundraising plans for nonprofits.
  • Understanding of small foundations, corporate giving programs, and individual donor fundraising.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within a tight timeframe.

Skills

  • Fundraising planning and execution
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Grant writing and proposal development
  • Collaboration and teamwork

Benefits

Working with CollabED offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of thousands of teachers across the country. By helping us build a sustainable fundraising plan, you will contribute to ensuring that CollabED remains a valuable resource for educators.

Pay

The position is volunteer-based and unpaid.

Schedule

The project will span 2 to 4 weeks, with sessions occurring over the course of this period.
