Volunteer: Fundraising Campaign Planning and Strategy
Overview
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. We are a 6 year old nonprofit in its first year as a 501(c)(3) and are looking to develop a strong, focused fundraising strategy for our annual end of year campaign.
Responsibilities
- Review our existing donor base, past campaigns, and giving history to identify patterns and opportunities
- Recommend how to position the Boerum Hill Community Storytellers Project ask relative to our Stoop Sale Soiree and end-of-year general operating campaign, so the two goals don't compete for the same donor attention
- Develop a focused end-of-year campaign strategy (2-3 pages or equivalent), including donor segmentation and messaging approach
- Recommend how to allocate our team's limited capacity across campaign tasks and timeline
- Set up a simple donor/campaign tracking tool or template (e.g., Excel, Monday.com, or our existing CRM)
- Create a campaign calendar with key dates, touchpoints, and workflow guidance
