Volunteer - Gift Shop/Store Clerk - EPC (2026)
About the Role
The Gift Shop/Store Clerk will greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. The role involves operating the cash register, maintaining clean and attractive displays, and ensuring the shop presents an appealing aspect to potential customers. This position requires a high level of customer service due to frequent customer interaction and involves regular lifting of up to 25 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Serve customers through friendly, helpful service
- Help customers find items they are looking for
- Present and rotate merchandise in an appealing manner
- Collect money, make change, balance cash drawer, and submit daily and accurate deposits
- Stock shelves with merchandise
- Use the Silverware register system
- Maintain a tidy and clean shop, including glass display cases and windows
- Stand in one place for lengthy periods of time
- Work mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand in one place for up to eight hours a day
- Ability to read and understand English
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds up to four feet high
- Frequent short bursts of stooping, kneeling, and bending
Schedule
This is an On-Grounds Volunteer position with a minimum service requirement of:
- Peak Times: 28 hours per week (Saturday before Memorial Day through Saturday after Labor Day; two Saturdays before Christmas through the first weekend of April)
- Off-Peak Times: 24 hours per week (first weekend of April through the Saturday before Memorial Day; Saturday after Labor Day through two Saturdays before Christmas)
