Volunteer: Financial Policies and Audit Readiness Assessment
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
About the role
- Draft a comprehensive fiscal policy and procedures manual (internal controls, risk mitigation, and operational governance).
- Assess current financial records and processes to identify gaps and ensure preparedness for future professional audits.
- Provide recommendations for refining the annual operating budget.
Currently, Wave is used as the accounting system, supported by a treasurer and an accounting consultant. Moving forward, the role will apply nonprofit accounting skills and implement a stronger review process to improve financial readiness and operational efficiency.

This role will ensure programs are built on a strong, sustainable financial foundation, supporting organizational sustainability, continuity of services, and clear scoping to achieve goals. International Ally Federation (IAF) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit dedicated to mental health intervention and holistic health education. IAF educates and provides community health outreach through a problem-solving and client-centered approach to support Dari- and Persian-speaking communities in Concord and Pittsburg.
