Volunteer: Financial Policies and Audit Readiness Assessment

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.

About the role

• Draft a comprehensive fiscal policy and procedures manual (internal controls, risk mitigation, and operational governance).
• Assess current financial records and processes to identify gaps and ensure preparedness for future professional audits.
• Provide recommendations for refining the annual operating budget.

Currently, Wave is used as the accounting system, supported by a treasurer and an accounting consultant. Moving forward, the role will apply nonprofit accounting skills and implement a stronger review process to improve financial readiness and operational efficiency.

This role will ensure programs are built on a strong, sustainable financial foundation, supporting organizational sustainability, continuity of services, and clear scoping to achieve goals. The partnership will directly strengthen IAF’s ability to fulfill its mission of serving the community with reliable, well-resourced programs.

International Ally Federation (IAF) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit dedicated to mental health intervention and holistic health education. IAF educates and provides community health outreach through a problem-solving and client-centered approach to support Dari- and Persian-speaking communities in Concord and Pittsburg.
