Volunteer Eucharist Minister for Saint Therese of Avon

Responsibilities

• Assist with Mass and prayer services as a Eucharistic minister.
• Assist Pastoral Care staff as directed to provide consistent, supportive companionship to residents

Requirements

• Must have documentation of Eucharist Minister training.
• Respect for everyone’s faith or spiritual beliefs
• Patience to listen non-judgmentally to residents and their families
• Keen awareness and avoidance of any form of proselytization (faith conversion)
• Able to identify the need for referrals to Pastoral Care staff
• Able to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
• Understanding of state laws protecting vulnerable adults and reporting mandates
• Able to follow infection prevention and control procedures to minimize risk of disease transmission and maintain health and safety of residents, staff and volunteers
