Volunteer Educator/ Louisiana 4-H, Statewide

Job Summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking part-time instructors to help make learning personal and inspiring for students. The position involves teaching in a small group setting (4:1 ratio) using Sylvan curriculum, with minimal lesson planning provided through SylvanSync. Instructors are expected to be available 4-20 hours per week, typically between 3:30-7:30 Monday-Thursday and Saturdays 9:00-1:00.

Responsibilities

• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the center directors
• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
