Volunteer: Developing Social Media Brand Identity, Templates + Editorial Strategy
About the Role
We are seeking a social media expert to develop our social media brand identity, templates, and editorial strategy in service of our organization's aesthetic and mission: "art, culture & policy interventions for a changing climate." Through policy-integrated arts and cultural experiences, we help audiences perceive the complex systems shaping public life today and create opportunities for audiences to reclaim collective authorship over these systems in service of the common good.
The volunteer will produce a social media brand kit, an editorial strategy, and a suite of custom templates to guide our communications as we prepare for launch. This will be based on existing brand assets and a visual identity designed to make our social media presence feel like an art, culture, and civic gathering or gallery space.
Since we currently lack access to paid programs like Adobe, templates must be created and editable in Canva and/or Figma. This project is critical to our launch and communications strategy, ensuring our social media presence aligns with and advances our mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop a cohesive social media brand identity that reflects our mission and aesthetic.
- Create a social media brand kit, including visual and verbal guidelines for consistent communication.
- Design custom, editable templates in Canva and/or Figma for posts, stories, and other social media content.
- Develop an editorial strategy tailored to our goals, ensuring content aligns with our mission and engages our audience.
- Collaborate in phases:
- Phase 1: Initial meetings to align on vision and goals.
- Phase 2: Produce and refine social media templates.
- Phase 3: Deliver a tailored social media plan in service of our launch and long-term goals.
- Ensure the social media presence feels like a dynamic, inviting gathering or gallery space that embodies our mission.
About the Organization
Climate House US ("Climate House") is a creative think tank using the arts to illustrate actionable pathways forward—and bring them to life. Our mission is rooted in the belief that climate change is not an abstract, technical issue but a universal, ambient experience felt through our bodies and daily lives.
- Mythos Embodied Climate: We communicate using universal sensory language to reframe climate change as a tangible, felt experience and a core issue shaping everything around us.
- Universal Sensory Language: By speaking the language of the senses, we make climate change accessible and actionable for everyone, fostering creative and collaborative engagement.
- Culture-First: We use culture as the fabric of daily life to meet people where they are, designing audience-tailored programming that serves as a bridge to deeper understanding.
- Show-not-tell: Our programs are designed to show, not tell. We ground solutions in experiential, sensory-rich blueprints, allowing audiences to feel—and even taste—the actionable pathways forward.
