Job Summary

Support the Davis Camp Parks Division by assisting with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks that help ensure smooth daily operations. This role includes front desk and reception responsibilities, providing a welcoming and helpful first point of contact for visitors.

About The Position

Schedule

  • Volunteers are expected to contribute up to 24 hours per week

Operate a County utility vehicle (Gator)

  • Support park operations
  • Operate safely and responsibly

Work Environment

  • Primary office environment
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions
  • Frequent sitting at a desk while using a computer and standard office equipment
  • May occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds, and infrequently lift items between 25 and 50 pounds

Reports To

  • Volunteer Liaison or Coordinator of assigned location

Special Requirements

  • Must pass a background check
  • May be required to pass a drug screening test

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet and assist members of the public in a friendly and professional manner
  • Provide administrative support to office staff, including sorting and distributing mail, making copies, scanning, filing, and organizing documents
  • Maintain accurate records, including alphabetizing files and date-stamping incoming materials
  • Help manage waiting lists and track service requests as needed
  • Monitor deadlines and appointments, ensuring timely communication with staff and visitors
  • Keep inventory of office supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed

Secondary Job Functions

  • Understand and interpret procedures and practices related to various departmental and assigned programs
  • Talk with individuals to gather preliminary information or verify information for various County programs or activities

Job Requirements

  • Complete all required County training courses
  • Provide an acceptable driving record at no cost to the County
  • Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license at the start of the volunteer assignment and maintain it throughout the duration of service

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Modern office practices and records management/maintenance procedures
  • English grammar and spelling
  • Basic mathematics required to calculate and perform general accounting procedures
  • Filing and information systems, including EXCEL and Microsoft Word
  • Effectively operating personal computers, calculators and peripheral hardware and software products
  • To provide guidance on the maintenance and implementation of developmental procedures of department to which assigned
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation, maintain a high standard of confidentiality, understand brief, written or oral directions and grasp ideas quickly in order to carry out instructions, solve problems with initiative and exercise good judgment
