Volunteer Coalition-Builder, Albany, NY: State Action to Defend the U.S. Constitution

Overview

Democratism educates the public about making government and other social systems more democratic. Our goal is to restore constitutional governance and create a fair, democratic election system.

About the role

You will build a local coalition for the effort to restore the Constitution and stop the authoritarian takeover in your community. You will reach out to people, make connections, and bring organizations and allies into the work. You will not do it alone; we provide guidance and support, and research on whom to approach. The outreach and relationships are yours to make.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to people in your community to educate them about the importance of restoring constitutional governance.
• Make connections with local organizations and allies to build a coalition.
• Bring together various groups to work towards the common goal of restoring the Constitution and stopping the authoritarian takeover.
• Utilize provided resources and research to identify key individuals and organizations to engage with.
• Work within a small group of volunteers across different states, sharing experiences and supporting each other.

Requirements

This role is open to New York residents who are interested in organizing in their own community. It is remote and self-paced, with personal support from the organization as you get started.

Qualifications

People of all backgrounds and identities are strongly encouraged to apply. No prior experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn and engage with diverse communities is essential.
