Volunteer: Brand Identity Kit & Institutional Marketing Collateral
About the role
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit that creates social change through pro bono connections. Africa Future Gateway, Inc. (AFG) is an established U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity headquartered in Washington, D.C. that currently lacks formalized brand rules and ready-to-use presentation templates to support outreach to international partners and institutional funders. AFG already has its official logo file, approved mission statements, and core programmatic descriptions in place. The volunteer will not design a logo from scratch but will focus on establishing foundational brand rules around the existing logo and translating that visual identity into two high‑priority collateral pieces: a donor one‑pager and an executive pitch deck template. Secondary assets such as web banners and custom vector libraries are deferred to a future project.
Responsibilities
- Establish a core brand style guide: define primary and secondary color palettes, typography pairings, and official logo usage and spacing guidelines.
- Create an editable donor one‑pager template: a polished, double‑sided institutional overview provided in an editable format (Canva, InDesign, Word, or Google Docs).
- Develop a modular slide deck template: a clean 10‑to‑12 slide master presentation deck in PowerPoint or Google Slides styled with title, content, quote, and data layouts.
- Deliver the completed brand style guide, donor one‑pager template, and slide deck template so that AFG’s executive leadership can immediately use them to pitch prospective donors and institutional funders with visual consistency and credibility.
- Work within the defined scope, deferring secondary assets (web banners, custom vector libraries) to a future project.
