General Summary
The Volumetric Cement Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a volumetric cement truck, delivering material to job sites on schedule while maintaining product integrity.
Safety and Compliance
- Safely operate a Volumetric Cement Truck Driver in accordance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Comply with all DOT, state, and local truck and highway laws, rules, and regulations.
Operational Duties
- Deliver material to job sites on schedule while maintaining product integrity.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials.
- Perform pre- and post-inspections, pursuant to DOT regulations, company guidelines and manufacture’s specifications.
- Maintain truck(s) and equipment according to the standards set in place by the company and manufacturer’s specifications.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.
Qualifications
- Must have valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience driving a volumetric cement truck.
- Understanding of mix design fundamentals, volumetric technology, and site protocols.
- Experience working on construction projects involving concrete pouring, finishing, or related tasks.
- Knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to safely operate vehicles/equipment through all types of environments, including off road and job sites.
- Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
- Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces.
