Voice Data Communications Technician

About the role
The work is on-site (5 days). Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Voice Data Communications Technician who will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Voice and Data communications infrastructure, including data center cabling, copper and fiber optic cable installation, network component replacement, Audio/Video systems installation/troubleshooting, wireless systems including emergency paging and Meraki Access points in office and plant environments.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain Teams VoIP endpoints, network devices and related communication hardware.
- Perform limited repair of telephone and other communications equipment.
- Install, terminate, and maintain voice and data communication cable including copper and fiber optic in buildings, underground and aerial applications.
- Interrogate and repair damaged or impaired cabling.
- Assist in office and factory communications rearrangements as required.
- Install and maintain AV systems in conference rooms on campus.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Relevant training in voice and data communications or 3-5 years’ work experience in the field.
- Must understand basic electrical concepts, low voltage wiring distribution and basic data networking.
- Possess a strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to read and understand architectural drawings and wiring schematics.
- Possess critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic PC skills including the use of Microsoft applications.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Effective working to heights of 45 feet using lifts and ladders.
- Requires specific vision abilities, including the ability to differentiate between colors.
- Possess good verbal communication skills.
Pay
Hourly base pay range: $52,630.00 - $74,340.00. This is a non-commissioned, non-incentive eligible role. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
