Vocational Specialist

About the role

RiseWell Community Services is looking for a full-time Master Level Counselor – Vocational Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Program in Richmond Hill, New York.

Responsibilities

• Utilize professional experience to provide tailored care and guidance to participants and families.
• Work as a collaborative, mobile, multi-disciplinary treatment team, both in office and in the community.
• Act as a member of a mobile, multi-disciplinary treatment team for persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Integrate information and expertise on supported employment, job development, and rehabilitation methods.
• Assist clients in developing skills in their environments of choice.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
• Rehabilitation counseling (if rehabilitation counselor, C.R.C. preferred).
• A valid and clean NY State driver license.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in a treatment or rehabilitation setting.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting, criminal record check.
• Approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and employment support strategies.
