Vocational Instructor

About the role

The Work Ready Vocational Adjustment Instructor helps students with disabilities learn and understand the expectations of successful employment. The trainer facilitates a high‑school classroom curriculum that covers work personality, work interests, work values, and identification of transferable skills. The curriculum also emphasizes soft‑skill mastery in communication, enthusiasm and attitude, teamwork, networking, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and professionalism. Class sizes typically range from five to six students and generally follow the high‑school schedule. Location: Argyle.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in developing employment‑readiness skills.
• Deliver the prescribed curriculum using varied instructional approaches.
• Teach topics such as work personality, interests, values, and transferable skills.
• Develop students’ soft‑skill competencies: communication, attitude, teamwork, networking, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and professionalism.
• Manage small classroom groups (5‑6 students) and align instruction with high‑school schedules.
• Provide both in‑person and virtual class options as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least 60 college credit hours.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Classroom teaching experience.
• Two 30‑hour online credentialing courses required before starting (paid by Work Ready).
• Teaching certification is helpful but not required.

Benefits

• $500 bonus for completing both required online credentialing courses.

Pay

The instructor is paid per student who completes each VAT course, resulting in roughly $500‑$800 per week. Payment is issued only after a student finishes the course.

Schedule

Schedules range from 1‑3 hours per day, 2‑3 days per week, based on the school’s timetable. Both in‑person and virtual class formats are available.
