Vocal/General Music (full-time)

About the role

Spectrum Schools is seeking a full-time vocal/general music teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will lead music programs for grades 5-12, including vocal and general music classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach vocal and general music classes to students in grades 5-12
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum or AA degree requirements
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student body and staff
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Experience with vocal and general music curriculum
• Knowledge of state and national music education standards
• Passion for working with young people and fostering a love of music

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate students
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning
