About the Role

As pioneers of the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® system, LivaNova continues to advance medical device solutions for patients affected by Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) and Difficult-to-Treat Depression (DTD). There are 3 million people in the U.S. alone and one in three people with epilepsy are drug resistant. People with severe seizures have, on average, a shorter life expectancy and an increased risk of cognitive impairment, particularly if the seizures developed in early childhood. VNS Therapy for DRE is delivered through a device that sends mild pulses to the vagus nerve at regular intervals throughout the day in an effort to prevent seizures.

This is a part-time opportunity. Our Operating Room Support Specialists help make a positive impact on the lives of our patients living with epilepsy. Whether you are an experienced Nurse, Operating Room Support Specialist, or someone looking to be trained to enter the medical field, this is your opportunity! Get the chance to work in the OR collaborating with neurosurgeons, epileptologists, and nurses supporting case coverage for our VNS Therapy System, which is FDA-approved for the treatment of refractory epilepsy.

Responsibilities

• Understand the implantation, operating room, and credentialing process
• Gain or maintain knowledge of local hospitals
• Be available to work with short notice
• Serve as a highly trained, subject matter expert responsible for surgical case coverage in the OR during implantation of the Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) Therapy System
• Support Operating Room staff in product-related matters intraoperative, including VNS diagnostics, troubleshooting, and programming assistance

Requirements

• Ability to project a positive image
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office software
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including nonverbal skills to communicate in the OR
• Maintain all required necessary immunizations for healthcare employment
• BS/BA degree or clinical technical/operating room environment experience

Schedule

This is a part-time, field-based position requiring regular visits to hospital facilities. Travel requirements will be limited with the potential for an occasional overnight stay.
