About the role

We are looking for a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This position involves visiting clinical sites, teaching both lecture content and clinical rotations (which can be days, evenings, weekdays, and/or weekends), and maintaining student records.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies/techniques in teaching.
• Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning.
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms; assist with program data collection to meet set due dates and deadlines.
• Assist with updating and maintaining student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements.
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs.
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure and stay current with college updates.
• Actively participate in committees as assigned, balancing teaching responsibilities as a priority.
• Obtain ATI (Assessment Technology Institute) Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek).

Requirements

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations.
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• 3 years of nursing experience with a BSN or 6 years of nursing experience with an Associate’s degree.
• Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Broad knowledge of nursing sciences and successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab.
• Proficient, strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Current knowledge/experience in a clinical setting.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.

Pay

$95,000–$100,000 annually.
