About the role
We are seeking a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our dynamic team. This position involves visiting clinical sites and teaching both lecture content and clinical rotations.
Responsibilities
- Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
- Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
- Aid in reviewing and revising of syllabi for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner
- Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection
- Update and maintain student files as related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements
- Teach courses at various times and locations in response to program needs
- Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure
- Actively participate in committees as assigned, based on availability and teaching responsibilities
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
- 3 years of Nursing experience with a BSN or 6 years of Nursing experience with an Associates degree
- Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
- Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
