About the Role
We are seeking a VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong L3 administration and engineering expertise to support mission-critical enterprise VMware environments, maintain SLAs, and drive automation and cloud integration initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for mission-critical enterprise VMware environments and maintain SLAs.
- Administer and manage large-scale VMware environments including VCF, VMware vSphere, and Disaster Recovery Solutions.
- Design, configure, and maintain ESXi hosts, clusters, and resource pools.
- Perform lifecycle management of DELL/HPE ESXi hardware.
- Plan and execute VM migrations using VMware HCX (vMotion, Bulk Migration, Cold Migration, Replication Assisted vMotion).
- Optimize virtual infrastructure performance, capacity, and scalability.
- Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., Zerto) aligned to RPO/RTO requirements.
- Configure and manage disaster recovery technologies (replication, failover, failback).
- Execute DR testing, failover scenarios, and recovery validation to ensure business continuity.
- Integrate VMware platforms with enterprise storage (SAN/NAS, vSAN) and manage storage provisioning, replication strategies, and performance tuning.
- Ensure alignment of virtual infrastructure with enterprise network architecture.
- Support vulnerability remediation and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC-driven scans) and maintain adherence to enterprise security policies.
- Produce and maintain definitive technical blueprints, architecture diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 production support.
- Utilize Aria Ops for monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI) to automate provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Execute infrastructure changes in accordance with enterprise change management processes.
- Document design decisions, configurations, and implementation steps.
- Participate in CAB reviews and ensure minimal risk to production systems.
- Support audit requests and regulatory compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of VMware components like HCX, HA, DRS, vMotion, and Distributed Switches.
- Expertise in failover mechanisms and disaster recovery replication topologies (e.g., Zerto).
- Hands-on experience building ESXi infrastructure workflows and day-to-day operational tasks using PowerCLI, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Practical working knowledge of cloud fundamentals, focusing on hybrid infrastructure.
- Proven track record of cross-functional teamwork with network, compute, and application stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
