About the role

GDIT is seeking a VMware Engineer to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. This role requires a current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of hardware, software, and system architecture is required.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains VMware vSphere cloud foundation infrastructure.
  • Evaluate existing network infrastructure and systems to determine business needs.
  • Develop and deploy customized VMware solutions for various platforms.
  • Maintain and optimize virtual machines, storage, and networking configurations.
  • Manage technology projects by overseeing both technical and administrative components.
  • Collaborate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to secure an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Develop plans to ensure systems fulfill specified requirements.
  • Apply core concepts and methodologies to design effective systems.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and leaders.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills by evaluating complex issues and identifying solutions.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Create system architecture and system design documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following certifications: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience.
  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Proficiency in configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking.
  • Experience with configuration of virtual switches and VLANs.
  • VMware Certified Professional certification required.
  • Ability to learn new virtualization technologies.

Benefits

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
