VMware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environment for performance and availability.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for VMware vSphere environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructure, including ESXi hosts (6.5+), vCenter Server, and vSAN.
• Configure and manage virtual networks, storage, and other virtualization components.
• Install, configure, and administer Virtual Center Server, VMware View, Disaster Recovery, Plate Spin, vMotion, P2V, P2P, V2V, and VMware Update Manager.
• Integrate vCenter with AD, DNS, backup, or other applications.
• Manage Red Hat RHEL Operating Systems.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of virtualization and hypervisor security, including hardening techniques to prevent attack threats.
• Manage relationships with vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer programming, or a similar field.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts (6.5+), vCenter Server, and vSAN.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Experience with other virtualization technologies such as Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVM) and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (container-native virtualization).
• Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes.
