VMware Engineer

The VMware Engineer is based in the United States and is a remote opportunity managed by a partner company. This role involves designing, deploying, and operating VMware environments across on-premises and hybrid cloud platforms. Key responsibilities include:

1. Designing, maintaining, and optimizing virtualization platforms
2. Maintaining operational excellence across enterprise environments
3. Implementing VMware Aria Automation solutions
4. Managing software-defined networking solutions
5. Administering vSAN clusters and storage policies
6. Developing infrastructure automation workflows
7. Leading capacity planning activities
8. Troubleshooting complex issues across virtualization, networking, and storage environments
9. Staying informed on VMware platform evolution and recommending practical adoption strategies

Requirements

• Deep VMware engineering expertise
• Strong automation skills
• Experience managing enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience in enterprise environments
• Proven experience managing vSAN environments and storage policies
• Hands-on experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking technologies
• Strong PowerCLI scripting capabilities and experience with infrastructure automation tools
• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
• Experience implementing disaster recovery solutions and Site Recovery Manager
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
• VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP preferred
• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, or VMware Cloud Foundation preferred
• Familiarity with Aria Operations, vRealize Operations, or virtualization migration initiatives beneficial
