The VMware Engineer is based in the United States and is a remote opportunity managed by a partner company. This role involves designing, deploying, and operating VMware environments across on-premises and hybrid cloud platforms. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, maintaining, and optimizing virtualization platforms
- Maintaining operational excellence across enterprise environments
- Implementing VMware Aria Automation solutions
- Managing software-defined networking solutions
- Administering vSAN clusters and storage policies
- Developing infrastructure automation workflows
- Leading capacity planning activities
- Troubleshooting complex issues across virtualization, networking, and storage environments
- Staying informed on VMware platform evolution and recommending practical adoption strategies
Requirements
- Deep VMware engineering expertise
- Strong automation skills
- Experience managing enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience in enterprise environments
- Proven experience managing vSAN environments and storage policies
- Hands-on experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking technologies
- Strong PowerCLI scripting capabilities and experience with infrastructure automation tools
- Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
- Experience implementing disaster recovery solutions and Site Recovery Manager
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
- VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP preferred
- Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, or VMware Cloud Foundation preferred
- Familiarity with Aria Operations, vRealize Operations, or virtualization migration initiatives beneficial
