VLS Operator | 3rd Shift

About the role

The Manufacturing Associate in the VLS (Vertical Launch System) department performs a range of mechanical and labor functions in a manufacturing environment. This role will work during 3rd Shift as part of a temporary third shift established to support production needs. The anticipated duration of this shift is up to twelve (12) months, subject to change based on business needs and project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Setup and run various manufacturing equipment, including drills, sanders, hand power tools, and test equipment.
• Work with paints, adhesives, solvents, and primers.
• Perform visual quality inspections of parts.
• Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Work to a daily schedule to meet or exceed output targets.
• Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate well between departments to notify leaders and engineers to problem solve issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machines.
• Use appropriate PPE for designated area.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience required.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to perform basic math, reading, writing, and computer skills such as basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and use of Microsoft Office.
• Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English communication skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Pay

Pay Range: $20.25/hr to $27.50/hr. Additional Shift Rate Differential will be added to base pay. Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
