About the role
The Visual Merchandising Specialist at Wayfair plays a key role in shaping the store's appearance and helping to drive business results through creative and effective visual merchandising.
Responsibilities
- Execute visual standards across the store, including seasonal floorsets, marketing signage, lighting displays, and occasional basic installations.
- Collaborate with department leaders and team members to ensure visual priorities are aligned and adapted to sales trends.
- Maintain presentation excellence by conducting daily and weekly walk-throughs using the Visual Merchandising Checklist.
- Show reliability by being consistent and communicating proactively when issues arise.
- Adapt with agility to changes in the store environment, whether it's a product launch or shifting visual priorities.
- Drive sales through visual impact by making display decisions that enhance the guest experience and support sales.
- Innovate and share ideas to improve display flow and introduce new styling concepts.
- Engage customers by interacting with them when needed to support a friendly, helpful, and visually inspiring shopping experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment by working efficiently with changing priorities, new promotions, and evolving product assortments.
- Operate as 'one team' by supporting cross-functional store activities such as sales and back-of-house operations.
Requirements
- Visual Merchandising Experience: 1–3 years required, background in home furnishings or interior design a plus.
- Retail Sales Insight: 1–3 years of experience in retail or customer-facing sales roles, preferably in home goods, décor, or furnishings.
- Planogram Knowledge: Experience reading and executing store layouts or planograms preferred.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a retail schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Organizational Strength: Multitasking pro with top-notch time management, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize on the fly.
- Tech Confidence: Comfortable using visual merchandising software, devices, and other store tools.
