Responsibilities
- Shoots and edits breaking news, general assignments, sports and feature stories for ABC10’s broadcast and digital platforms
- Be assigned to either work in a team or solo for daily news assignments, working collaboratively with the team to ensure the best content is gathered and published on all platforms
- Edit broadcasts using non-linear applications (Edius preferred)
- Must be open to working weekends and varying shifts, depending on daily station coverage needs
- Able to multi-task assignments while constantly monitoring quality control
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories
- Operate live shots with TVU, Dejero, microwave or satellite truck
- Knowledgeable in advanced lighting skills for broadcast
Requirements
- BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience preferred
- Clear understanding of the principles of journalism
- Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
- Demonstrated social media proficiency, including an active news gathering on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter)
- Demonstrated news judgment, writing skills, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills
- Must be flexible with schedule, reliable and dependable
- Knowledge of ENPS, EDIUS, non-linear editing programs, and Axis graphics
- Must have a valid driver's license, able to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodation
