Essential Functions
- Manages assigned Visual Inspection, Labelling and Packaging operations which include product visual inspection and packaging.
- Provides strong leadership with a focus on creating/maintaining a positive work environment through effective communication, performance management, accountability, etc.
- Generates, updates, and maintains documentation associated with manufacturing areas.
- Interacts constructively with employees, managers, and cross-functional peers.
- Actively trains, coaches, and develops direct reports.
- Supervises area personnel performance, including compliance with SOP, cGMP, and safety regulations.
- Actively involved in avoiding/minimizing, troubleshooting, and resolving production problems by ensuring resources, tools and equipment are available.
- Interacts with all supporting departments (e.g., Quality Assurance, Facilities & Engineering, Technical Services, etc.) to ensure production problems are addressed promptly and with quality considerations.
- Performs deviation investigations related to assigned area of responsibility along with implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence of such deviations.
- Routinely suggests and implements new, innovative solutions focused on continuous improvement.
- Arranges weekly production schedule, including the scheduling of process and equipment validations.
- Prepares production-monitoring reports and participates in analysis of product cost and budgeting process.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding capital expenditures and efficiency improvements in manufacturing areas.
- Assists with hiring and interviewing of new employees. Provides coaching and counseling to area personnel.
- Conducts performance evaluations and sets objectives and performance standards for area personnel.
- Manages staffing levels, budget spending, financial and cost center responsibilities.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Engineering.
- 5-7 years leadership experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cGMP guidelines/standards.
- Advanced problem solving such as Six Sigma and Lean training, Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Hands-on experience in making operational improvements.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change.
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills including strong presentation skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, proficient in the use of spreadsheets and word processing programs.
- Excellent at bringing others together and reconciling differences effectively.
