Visiting Lecturer of Criminal Justice

About the role

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer in the department of Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Emergency Services Administration. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four courses per semester and to assist in the further development of the UNTD criminal justice program.

This 9-month appointment begins September 1, 2026, and ends May 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teaching four undergraduate courses per semester.
• Participating in activities such as student recruitment, program assessment, program development.
• Participating in department and college meetings.
• Participating in fall and spring commencement ceremonies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field.
• Evidence or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate criminal justice courses at an institution of higher education.
• Experience in curriculum development and developing interdisciplinary programs.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching in an online environment.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
