About the role

We invite applicants for a 12-month, non-tenure eligible Lecturer position in the Lecturer Title Series to begin as early as Spring or Fall 2027. The University’s mission involves three primary functions: instruction, research, and service. Faculty work with the Office of the Dean to delineate their distribution of effort (DOE), which typically allocates time to instruction but may fluctuate based on factors such as new course development or service to the college.

Work in this faculty appointment, including course instruction, office hours, administrative meetings, and college-wide events, is expected to occur on-site. Lecturers will conduct classes, seminars, and lectures; utilize career and professional experience to educate and advise students; and contribute to departmental development.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice and related fields.
  • Conduct classes, seminars, and lectures in various formats, including online instruction.
  • Advise students on educational and professional development.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and college-wide events.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ), or related field.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • While a doctorate in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred, candidates with an ABD or substantial relevant professional experience will be considered.
