Visiting Instructor, Communication Studies
The School of Communication is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Visiting Instructor of Communication Studies. This is a temporary, full-time appointment for the 2026-2027 academic year.
About the Department
The School of Communication's program is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. The School offers bachelor of science degrees in Advertising, Digital Video Production, Multimedia Journalism, and Public Relations, as well as a M.S. in Communication Management and a B.A. in Communication Studies. The School has state-of-the-art facilities and enjoys strong relationships with communication professionals in Northeast Florida.

Responsibilities
- Teach four undergraduate speech courses in fall 2026 and four in spring 2027, as assigned by the Department Director.
- Teach face-to-face and online courses.
- Participate in curriculum improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communication Studies or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, particularly introductory speech courses such as SPC 2608-Fundamentals of Speech.
