Visiting Instructor - College of Education - Fall 2026
Faculty Responsibilities
Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development, student advising, professional attainment, and service to the college, university, and community.
- Teach 15 hours of undergraduate and/or graduate Education courses, which may include Curriculum & Instruction, Advanced Literacy (Reading Clinic), Classroom Management and/or Classroom Technology.
- Support teacher preparation programs through supervision of clinical experiences, as needed.
- Contribute to program development, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
- Engage in scholarship and professional activity.
- Participate in service activities within the department, college, university, and broader educational community.
- Other responsibilities may include student recruitment.
Qualifications
Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the University’s mission and be an active participant in a local church.
- Earned doctorate in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Literacy/Reading Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required (ABD candidates near completion may be considered).
- Demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction and/or reading development is preferred.
- Experience teaching in P-12 and Higher Education settings
- Texas teaching certification and experience are preferred.
- Evidence of effective teaching in higher education and/or online instruction is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, commitment to professional growth, and dedication to high-quality educator preparation are essential.
