Instructor Spring and Fall 2026: Adult & Higher Education
Position Details
The College of Education invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track part-time instructor positions to teach on a term-to-term basis for the Spring and Fall terms of the 2026 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Dean. Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available. The purpose of this position is to develop and/or deliver courses for the College of Education’s Adult and Higher Education program. Courses may be hybrid or fully online in undergraduate or graduate programs and graduate certificates.

Key Responsibilities
- 100% Instruction: Develop and/or teach courses within the Adult and Higher Education major and graduate certificate programs.
- Participate in necessary training and meetings to develop, maintain, and teach with appropriate technologies in OSU’s learning management system (Canvas).
- Courses are expected to promote experimental learning and success of students from varied backgrounds.
What You Will Need
- Degree commensurate with courses to be taught: Earned Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education or a closely related field for 500 level courses. Earned Doctorate degree in Adult and Higher Education or a closely related field for 600 level courses and 500 level courses in the doctoral program.
- Documented experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the course content area.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Professional experience specific to the course content area and/or completion of coursework in course content area.
- Experience developing and/or teaching courses using blended technologies and formats (e.g. hybrid, online).
- Teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Demonstrated ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices to the benefit of all learners.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
- Office space is provided in Furman Hall at OSU’s Corvallis campus.
- Local travel for the doctoral program is required.
- Doctoral classes meet in-person twice per term at the OSU Portland Center in Portland, Oregon.
- Attendance at quarterly faculty meetings is optional.
- Meetings with supervisors required.
