Description
The overarching goal of Dr. Wainford’s translational research program is to drive the development of clinically relevant mechanism-based approaches for the detection, prevention, and treatment of hypertension, the SSBP and hypertension-driven cognitive impairment across the lifespan.
Responsibilities
- Conduct translational research on hypertension, SSBP, and related cognitive impairment.
- Develop and validate new biomarkers for early detection of hypertension and related conditions.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to implement evidence-based interventions for hypertension management.
- Participate in interdisciplinary research projects aimed at improving patient outcomes.
- Present findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., physiology, pharmacology, neuroscience).
- Experience in translational research, preferably in cardiovascular or neurosciences.
- Strong publication record in high-impact journals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Expertise in hypertension pathophysiology and its impact on cognitive function.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and experimental design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
