Visiting Assistant Professor
About the role
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for the Robert T. Seeley Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning September 1, 2026. This is a one-year, non-tenure-track appointment, renewable for a second year based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The position includes a 1-1 teaching load.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Mathematics (must be completed by the start date).
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated excellence in research productivity or potential.
- Strong record or promise of effective university-level teaching.
Compensation
- Expected salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 per year.
- Final salary will be determined by the University after evaluating all relevant factors at the time of the employment offer.
