About the role

The Department of Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the field of media studies.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two courses per semester during the academic year 2026-2027, including a large introductory lecture in media studies in Fall and Spring.
  • Teach a specialized graduate seminar on a topic of the candidate's choosing.

Requirements

  • Hold a doctorate.
  • Be able to provide evidence of a strong research record (and production experience, if relevant).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching.

Qualifications

  • Areas of particular interest include Latin American, African or diasporic media cultures as well as practical experience in media production.
