Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry (F0024)

Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Physics in the Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor starting in August 2026.

About the Role

This position is a one-year, non-renewable appointment located in Farmville, Virginia, and requires in-person work on Longwood University's campus.

Responsibilities

• Teach general chemistry (for science majors or non-majors) and general education chemistry courses.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in chemistry is required.
• Candidates with demonstrated college teaching ability are preferred.
• A demonstrated ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents is preferred.

Qualifications

A strong commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching is required.

Pay

Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

Schedule
