Position Summary
The Chemistry Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time, one-year position starting August 2026. Review of applications will begin February 15, 2026, and continue until position is filled. Responsibilities
- Substantial background in any of organic, inorganic, or biochemistry to teach as part of our innovative curriculum.
- Responsible for teaching two 4-credit courses and two foundation level labs per semester plus contributing to departmental level service.
Qualifications
- PhD in organic, inorganic, or biochemistry (ABD will be considered).
- Laboratory experience in chemical purification, synthesis and characterization, or biochemical techniques.
- Articulated evidence of interest in teaching from an active learning framework.
- Evidence of the ability to be an effective teacher.
Preferred
- Teaching as instructor of record.
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- Experience mentoring and facilitating student groups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
