About the role

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is seeking a Full-Time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (Appointment Stream) for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. Located in scenic Northwestern Pennsylvania, Pitt-Bradford emphasizes teaching and offers its faculty access to extensive resources and research opportunities through the University of Pittsburgh system.

Responsibilities

  • Teach twelve credits per semester in Biology at the undergraduate level.
  • Support the Biology, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science programs with experience in cell and molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, and/or microbiology.
  • Assignments include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs, as well as upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and relevant field experience are encouraged.

Requirements

  • PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates.
  • Applied experience within the field of Biology and experience teaching at the university or collegiate level are preferred.
