Job Description

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Visiting Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. This position serves for one year as a core faculty member in the CMHC program, teaching a 4-4 load in fall and spring terms. Opportunities to teach in the undergraduate psychology program may also be included.

  • Teach courses in accordance with college guidelines
  • Participate in the college's assessment program of student performance
  • Timely response to student questions and concerns
  • Timely submission of university reports and requirements, such as attendance, grades, and student progress reports

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Proficient with using technology for instructional delivery, such as learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint)
  • An appreciation of different learning styles to incorporate into their instructional delivery
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling, Counselor Education, or a Counselor Education and Supervision program; or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a faculty member in a counselor education training program for approximately one academic year
  • Candidates who have completed degrees from a CACREP-accredited program will be preferred
  • All degrees must have been completed at a regionally accredited institution
