Vision Team Support Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support (configuration, installing programs, troubleshooting) with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, IPCs, Robots, Cameras and other electrical components pertaining to food processing industrial machinery.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests, commission and test equipment.
• Troubleshoot control systems and their interfaces remotely and on-site (in-plant).
• Create documentation and training materials for all potential users including but not limited to Laitram Machinery engineers/technicians, customers, and suppliers.
• Assist the engineering team with installation of upgrades and hardware changes to equipment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher in an Electrical Technology field or 3+ years of experience working in an electrical technician field.
• Familiarity with PLC logic: Ladder logic, Function Blocks, Structured text.
• Familiarity with VFDs and asynchronous motors.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and controls equipment, using multimeters, reading electrical diagrams.
• Ability to learn quickly how to operate and troubleshoot new devices.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Willingness and ability to interface with a global team of like-minded professionals.
• Willingness and ability to travel 15% to 20% of the time, including occasional overnight and international trips as required by project needs.
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 50 pounds.
