About the role
The Scribe at Midwest Eye Consultants supports the physician and technician in the clinic setting by assisting with patient exams, administrative tasks, and patient flow coordination. This role offers a starting wage based on experience, six and a half paid holidays, and approximately ten days of PTO within the first year.
Responsibilities
- Accurately enter information into EHR during the patient exam.
- Aid in patient procedures and escort patients to Optical.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow.
- Prepare exam rooms by cleaning instruments and maintaining supplies.
- Assist with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing recall lists.
- Occasionally support other offices with travel.
Supplementary Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations and vision therapy.
- Collect patient medical history and enter data into EHR.
- Perform vision and diagnostic tests as needed.
- Communicate with patients about medications, tests, and procedures.
- Occasionally assist with office management tasks.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in optometry is preferred.
