VIS AST PROF
This is a nine-month, non-tenure-accruing Visiting Assistant Professor position, time-limited to no more than two academic years, beginning August 16, 2026.
About the Role
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida seeks candidates for a Visiting Assistant Professor position. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants whose research interests align with those of current faculty. Those hired will join a vibrant department of approximately 60 faculty and 85 graduate students pursuing research in a broad array of pure and applied areas. Active participation in the department’s research activities is expected.
The teaching assignment is 2-2 with the possibility of 2-1 subject to course demands and available resources.

These facilities are available to all faculty to enhance teaching and research.

Responsibilities
- Teach a 2-2 course load (with potential for 2-1 based on departmental needs).
- Actively participate in the department’s research activities.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field is required by the start date.
- Strong promise in research and teaching.
