About the role
A VMware Virtualization Systems Engineer focused on supporting and modernizing virtualization infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot environments using VMware vCenter and ESXi 8.0.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain virtual desktop environments with Omnissa Horizon View Server 8.0, including managing desktop pools and troubleshooting pool issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot VMware Unified Access Gateway (UAG) integrated with Horizon View.
- Manage HPE hardware such as ProLiant DL360 G10, G11, and Synergy Servers, including BIOS configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Administer and engineer Microsoft Windows Server OS (2019, 2022) and Windows 11 on virtual and physical hosts.
- Maintain system baselines and hardware configurations using HPE iLO for out-of-band management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in Information Systems or systems engineering.
- Expertise in VMware vSphere deployment, upgrades, and management.
- Experience managing virtual desktop infrastructure with Horizon View Server.
- Knowledge of configuring VMware UAG and physical hardware troubleshooting.
- Ability to create detailed infrastructure documentation.
Preferred Skills
- VMware certifications or CISSP certification.
- Understanding of storage, networking, and VMware Aria Operations.
- Familiarity with Linux OS and cross-team collaboration skills.
